Current Affairs - September 2020 Swachh Survekshan Awards 2020 Swachh Survekshan is an annual Cleanliness survey. This includes hygiene and sanitation in cities and towns across India. It was launched as part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, which aimed to make India clean and free of open defecation by 2 October 2019. The first survey was undertaken in 2016 and covered 73 cities. By 2020 the survey has grown to cover 4242 cities and is largest cleanliness survey in the world. The surveys are carried out by Quality Council of India. Swachh Survekshan 2020 Criteria The survey is carried out by the Quality Council of India, every year. It include 5 Lakhs+ ULB Document Evidence captured,24 Lakhs+ Geotagged Photos captured from field and feedback from 1.9 crore people. The 2020 Swachh Survekshan was weighted on 6000 points. Following are the different components of sanitation related aspects used for the Swachh Survekshan 2020 :- (a) Service Level Progress => 1300 marks (b) Citizen fee
